Kugenuma Beach / Kugenuma Kaigan, Kanagawa

Kugenuma Beach is well known as birthplace of Beach Volleyball,Beach tennis and Surfing in Japan.It has a shallow seashore has waves for surfing everyday,There are many Beach volleyball courts and Beach Tennis courts on the beach which has a 150 meters width.Many people coming to Kugenuma Beach to enjoy each sports.

Access:
Take Odakyu Line to Kugenuma Kaigan Station.
It takes about 10 minute on foot from Kugenuma Kaigan Station.

When you pass through a ticket gate at Kugenuma Kaigan Station,you can see a view like this,please take a walk along this arrow.

Turn your left.

Turn your right.

When you turn your left,you can see an underpass.

Go through an underpass.

Go straight till pass through that building.

Finally, we are arrived at the beach.

You can see the Mt.Fuji on your right.

You can see the Enoshima on your left.

Kugenuma is famous for surfing.Its shallow seashore being suitable for beginners.No matter there were no waves for surfing other area,this place has waves so you could be surfing anyway. Kugenuma Beach provides a large parking lot and efficient access from the train station that going to be crowded with many surfers.

Please relax in the greenery park.

There is a cafeteria.

I recommend to get Taco which given lots of vegetables for 350yen.

When you go back to the roadside,you can find a McDonald's.There's so many surf shops around there,each shop rents surfboards and surf school.

Zushi Beach / Zushi Kanagawa

Zushi Beach is a shallow and subsided waves that suited for sea bathing.The Beach houses are built there and is bustling during the July to August.

Access:
It takes about 10 minutes to get to Zushi Beach from Zushi Station.

Beach

Due to the spreaded of Cholera,100,000 of people passed away in Japan in 1886.It was said that Seawater shows a good sterilizing action and skin disease.When it comes to sunbathing,skin exposed to sunshine can also make vitamin D.

From such reasons,the government promoted that Zushi Beach is suitable for sea bathing and developed as a sea side resort.The railway was open for service in 1889,the summer houses was built since then.Many people came to visit Zushi Beach in the summer.

Hiroyama Park / Zushi Kanagawa

Hiroyama Park that located on the hill in Zushi Kanagawa. The view from this park is wonderful, you can see the Mt. Fuji well on a sunny day. After you enjoyed at the Hiroyama Park, Let's enjoy hiking to go down a hill to go to the seaside.

Access:
From JR Yokosuka Line Zushi Station, Wait for the bus for "鎌倉40鎌倉駅行き" at Bus stop No.7. The bus running every 20 minutes and arrive at Hiroyama approximately 7 minutes. If you don't understand Japanese language, stand near the bus driver and just say "Hiroyama". I guess the bus driver would be help you when the bus arrived at Hiroyama.

From the bus stop,take a walk like this arrow which I shown below. It takes about 15 minutes to get to Hiroyama park from the bus stop.

Hiroyama park stands on the 100 meters sea levels is the perfect scenic spot which surrounded by the sea and Mt.Fuji the highest mountain in Japan.

The viewing platform,flower bed and monkey park used to be the battery during the period of war time.

This rest house built on the Japanese army's building remained site.

The starting point for Hiking trails.

It was about 30 minutes to the seaside.

Let's go to the beach from here! From the beach to Zushi Station is in the walking distance so you don't have to go back to the Hiroyama Park.

Israeli Restaurant in Tokyo

Israeli Restaurant in Tokyo? Even though I'm familiar everything in Tokyo but I seldom heard of that.

"David's Deli" according to its Web Site, it is said that New York style Israeli Restaurant.However I've never been to New York and Israel.To be honest,I do not go down what Israeli Restaurant stands for?

During the period I traveled a lot when I was younger,I met many American Jewish and they were really kindly to me. Furthermore,Israel is a holy place for Jews as well as Christians and Muslims.First of all, I gonna have to try Israeli foods to understand about Israel.

Hummus has highly spiced strange taste that I've never experienced. When I tried one bite,I can see as if the people those who lives in the Middle East lives vividly in the harsh environment such a adust desert unlike Japanese people those who grow up in the land which has plentiful water and surrounded forest.

I want to try many kinds of Israeli dishes while drinking wine next time.

7,700 JPY Ski Tour

Let me explain about reasonable Ski Tour for JPY 7,700 this time.Take the Bullet Train which called Joetsu Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to EchigoYuzawa Station.Then,Go on a free shuttle Bus which running every 20 minutes from Echigo Yuzawa Station to Kandatsu Snow Resort that famous for heavy snow fall.
Enjoy Skiing or Snowboarding during a day time,Return to Tokyo the same day  along the same way.The package tour combined with round trip train fare and Lift ticket.

I applied its tour on the Internet.

However, There is no English page prepared so you gonna be struggle online booking.But there are View Plaza びゅうプラザ you can see near the JR Stations are same organization with online travel agency which I shown above.I'm not sure that  the travel agency suggest 7,700 JPY for you or not. but I guarantee you will be offered sufficient price.so please ask for its Ski Tour at View Plaza if you are interested.

Take the Joetsu-Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to EchigoYuzawa Station. No matter heavy snow fall,the Shinkansen always running on time.It takes approximately 80 minutes from Tokyo to EchigoYuzawa.

When you arrived at EchigoYuzawa Station,go through the ticket gate at West Exit
and take a look at 10 o'clock direction.Free shuttle bus to Kandatsu Snow Resort leaves from here every 20 minutes.I guess it's going to be cold outside so you should better go into a waiting room until comes the bus.

The Bus will be arrive at Kandatsu Snow Resort about 10 minutes.

Go into the building and get in line at the booths to give voucher for lift ticket.
Please return the lift ticket in the return box when you go home.

Change into ski wear in the locker room.You can use the locker for 500 JPY. Usable repeatedly without charge as long as the finish button is not pushed.The restaurants in the ski resort are expensive so I had bring my own lunch and drink put it in the locker until got hungry.

A building kept clean inside has any restaurants and gift shops.

EchigoYuzawa and the surrounding mountains are famous for heavy snowfall area.
Its probability of having clear skies are low but having heavy pile of new snow are high.Basically snow quality of these area are wet but it's going to be satisfied your desire for powder seeker.

The one way fare for the Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to EchigoYuzawa Station
is 6,260 JPY. One day lift ticket for Kandatsu Snow Resort is 4,700 JPY. The total
amount is 17,220 JPY which included round trip Shinkansen ticket.When I think
of that,Apparently 7,700 JPY tour is a good deal for the price.
