Odawara Castle / Odawara, Kanagawa

The old castles can not been seen in Tokyo any more. So I will show you the nearest castle from Tokyo that you can go on a day trip, Odawara Castle.

Access:
From Tokyo Station, Take JR Tokaido Line to Odawara Station.
It takes about one hour 13 minutes. The fare is 1,490yen.

If you can afford to pay for Bullet train which called Shinkansen, it will lead you to get to Odawara Station for 37 minutes. The fare is 3,220yen. Make sure to check the Shinkansen which you take to stop at Odawara Station, or the train won't stop until Nagoya Station.

Turn your right when you get through a station building and take a walk
along the railway track.

Turn right.

Over there.

It takes about ten minutes from Odawara castle to Odawara station on foot. but the way I show you is a shortcut, it's not a regular route. I guess it takes about twenty minutes if you take a regular route.

Admission fee is 500yen.
You can take the photos inside of a castle but no flash.

Would you like try on a samurai warrior's suit of armour?

Ninja darts.

Regular route.

Odawara is well known as a gateway of Hakone. If you can afford the time, I recommend you stay there for next destination like Hakone or Atami.
